Large, fully-lined, beautiful zipper pouches are a companion to any mending practice—I take them with me everywhere. This is a limited offering of a new, large mending kit with a fully-lined, indigo-dyed, zipper pouch and a variety of quality mending tools and materials. Each pouch is made from hand-printed, indigo-dyed, thick organic cotton and gorgeous organic cotton/ hemp denim fabrics. Filled with favorite things.
POUCH: This is the largest zipper pouch I offer. It’s big enough for a full-sized pair of shears, large patches, a full needle book, and your materials. The pouches are double-sided and fully-lined. And they are a lovely, heavy construction like a quilt. They feel luxurious--like they might quickly become a favorite. Each pouch is reinforced on the bottom with a denim/ hemp blend for extra sturdiness. Cotton and metal zipper for closure.
MATERIALS: Tools are thoughtfully-sourced, heirloom-quality and whenever possible are low-waste, low-plastic, and biodegradable. This edition of pouches contains three special, handwoven fiber samples from former artisan-led interiors brand, Minna. It also contains one canvas, one linen, one premium selvedge denim, and one indigo-dyed linen fabric patch. These kits are ideal for mending or stitching denim, cotton, or linen textiles.
EACH POUCH CONTAINS:

-Three different colors of 100% cotton Sashiko thread (white, medium blue, and dark blue)
-Two sturdy, metal Sashiko needles

-A small pair of sharp metal scissors from Merchant & Mills
-Three beautiful, handwoven fabric samples from former brand, Minna
-Four more canvas, linen, denim, and indigo-dyed patches
-A small, hand-stamped pocket notebook
-A custom 6" wooden ruler made in the USA
-A beautiful color postcard with a sample mending photo

These pouches were designed and assembled by me and sewn locally here in the Hudson Valley of Upstate NY. Each pouch offers a sample of beloved fabrics carefully arranged to make a beautiful case for mending tools. This would be a great addition to my book, Mending Matters (Abrams, 2018) or Make Thrift Mend (Abrams, 2021).
