My favorite mending kit! Each pouch is one-of-a-kind made from heirloom and upcycled denim and filled with favorite tools and materials.
These kits are a new design--the zipper pouch is bigger and showcases distinct, patchwork denim fabrics. The pouches are double-sided and fully-lined. And they are a lovely, heavy construction like a quilt. Each zipper pouch is one-of-a-kind with a denim base that's either selvedge or hemp/ organic cotton denim. They feel luxurious--like they might quickly become a favorite. Each pouch is fully-lined with 100% oragnic cotton, indigo-dyed, block-printed fabric. Colorful metal zipper made in the USA.
Tools are thoughtfully-sourced, and whenever possible are low-waste, low-plastic, and biodegradable. These patchwork pouches were lovingly made to showcase beautiful fabrics and offer high-quality materials meant to support your handcrafting journey. These kits are ideal for mending denim, cotton, or linen textiles.
EACH POUCH CONTAINS:
-An original, one-of-a-kind, fully-lined, finished patchwork zipper pouch that measures approximately 9.5″ x 9.5″
-Three different colors of 100% cotton Sashiko thread (white, medium blue, and dark blue)
-Two sturdy, metal Sashiko needles
-A quality metal thimble
-A small pair of sharp metal scissors
-A small custom notebook
-A wooden fabric pencil
-A custom 6" wooden ruler made in the USA
-A beautiful color postcard with a sample mending photo
-A handful of small various weight studio fabrics to use as patches—includes linen, denim, cotton, and blends.
These pouches were designed and assembled by me and sewn locally here in the Hudson Valley of Upstate NY. Each pouch offers a sample of beloved fabrics carefully arranged to make a beautiful case for mending tools. This would be a great addition to my book, Mending Matters (Abrams, 2018) or Make Thrift Mend (Abrams, 2021).
